Dedication to a radio career yields Thomas Hughes an Edge FM gig

Do you wonder if Gen Z still aspire to a radio career? 18 year old Thomas Hughes does, and that dedication has seen him land his first role with ACE Radio Network’s Edge FM in Wangaratta.

Sean Craig Murphy, owner of the Australian Radio School, says,

“(Thomas) is the biggest radio fan you can imagine. He’s only 18 but he’s read years of old Radioinfo articles and know as much as he possibly can about the industry and everyone in it.

I’m honoured that he held the radio school in such high regard that he made the huge sacrifice to do the course. We’ve had people relocate to Adelaide for the 12-week part time course, but never fly in every week. Our radio courses have never been busier. We’re on track to teach another 100 students this year. So many people are incredibly keen to get into the audio content creation game.”

The Radioinfo team think we’ll be writing plenty more articles about Thomas’s radio career in the future.
