As The Block returns to Television, Songl is making the music soundtracks from each episode available for streaming as the show goes to air on the Nine Network, so viewers can identify and re-listen to their favourite songs from The Block in real time.
Mark Shaw, Digital Music Distribution (DMD) CEO said, “Songl will answer that question from lounge-rooms across Australia, ‘I wonder what song that is?’ We love that Songl users will be able to discover the songs they’re hearing on The Block.”
Since it began in 2003, The Block has been a ratings smash. The grand finale of The Block: Sky High was seen by an average national audience of 4.3 million and was Nine’s most watched program of 2013.
The ability to discover the music from The Block on Songl is an extension of the partnership between Songl and Nine Entertainment Co. which to date has included music based activations for Big Brother, The Summer of Cricket and Ticketek.
The Block: Fans vs Faves playlists will go live on Songl at the same time as each episode goes to air on the Nine Network and will continue for the duration of the series as the old Dux Theatre in Melbourne’s Albert Park is converted into four three-bedroom, three-bathroom, loft-style apartments
The music of The Block can be immediately accessed by new and existing Songl users and on the Songl app across smartphones and tablets.
