The 1st radio ratings survey results for this year have been released.
Highlights:
- Cricket season brings good results for ABC local stations, except Melbourne
- Talk stations do well over the holiday period with a lot of international news about
- 2GB lineup changes perform well
- RSN drops out of the ratings results in Melbourne
- WSFM Sydney slips after rebrand to Gold 101.7 during survey 1
- KIIS steady in Melbourne, Gold 104.7 grabs the FM lead
- Forever Classic 60s begins broadcasting in Perth on DAB this survey
- A lot of movement in DAB+ station rankings over the summer period
The survey was conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia between Sun Jan 19 to Sat Mar 1 2025, which included some of the summer cricket season and the inauguration of President Trump in America.
Commercial radio now reaches a total audience of 12.5 million Australians. In-car listening remains a pivotal platform, increasing by 6.5% year on year with 10.3 million Australians listening in cars weekly. Over 3.1 million Australians listen to commercial radio via streaming.
