Full Radio Alive conference program now available

Commercial Radio Australia has released the full program for next week’s Radio Alive conference in Melbourne.

Features include an afternoon RAIN Summit, hosted by Radio and Internet Newsletter founder Kurt Hanson in one of the four afternoon streams.

Engaging Millenials is another topic in the afternoon stream, featuring insights from Alex Lazenby (SBS), Mike E and Emma from ARN’s 96.1, Nova’s Smallzy and triple j’s Ollie Ward.

radioinfo’s Steve Ahern, Managing Director of Ahern Media & Training, will talk about some of the work he does in difficult and dangerous media locations such as Afghanistan and South Sudan, and will share lessons and challenges for journalists in ‘a dangerous world.’  Insights into fighting fake news and how not to give terrorists the publicity they seek will also be on Steve’s agenda in the 45 minute talk at 2pm in stream 3.

Other headline sessions already announced for the plenary sessions include Real News in the World of Fake Facts, Trust, Transparency and Brand Safety, Media Reform and a QandA session hosted by Virginia Trioli.

The agenda, and the changed name of the conference indicates a strongly collaborative approach to Australia’s radio industry, with strong representation from trend setters and thought leaders not just from commercial radio, but from the ABC, SBS and other media sectors. The full program is below.
