It is a short turn around between surveys with the release of GfK Radio 360 Survey 4 on July 9 after Survey 3 just five weeks ago.
This is Kyle and Jackie O‘s first full survey on KIIS 101.1. Survey 3 saw a small decline in Melbourne but a larger 1.4 drop on Sydney’s KIIS 1065, which meant while they remained the top FM station in breakfast, they lost overall No 1 to Ben Fordham at 2GB. Last survey saw a spike for most largely sport centric stations, most surprisingly SEN 1116 in Melbourne. Being in the midst of NRL and AFL seasons, and with the Olympics just around the corner, I feel this trend will continue this survey and next with 2GB and 3AW consolidating their positions as No 1 stations in Sydney and Melbourne.
Staying in Melbourne, it will be Marty Sheargold’s last survey for his Triple M Melbourne breakfast show. After having three months off from last October to January to look after his mental health, he had seen improvement this year to rate exactly the same as Kyle and Jackie O Survey 3. He and his team including Matt Tilley and Troy Ellis (pictured together) should be very proud of what they achieved if they continue that momentum Survey 4.
The only breakfast shows with more than a 10% audience share in Melbourne last survey were Christian O’Connell at Gold 104.3, Fifi, Fev and Nick at the Fox FM and, of course Ross and Russel at 3AW, about double everyone else. The most abundant marketing I felt came from Gold in the last five weeks and my hot tip is that it, and The Christian O’Connell Show, are likely to see the most improvement as a result.
Brisbane is neck and neck between B105 and Triple M. I think we may see the lead switch again there. 5MMM to stay on top in Adelaide, but Mix 102.3 to regain ground and Nath, Nat and Shaun will give Nova 93.7 another win on breakfast in Perth.
Radioinfo will have all the results of GfK Radio 360 Survey 4 here this morning July 9 at 9:30.
