Gold Coast GM Paul Bartlett resigns

Paul Bartlett has left his job as General Manager of SCA’s Gold Coast Media Centre, effective immediately.

Bartlett has told radioinfo he was planning to make a move at some time and he felt it was better to leave now, before budget processes began for the new business cycle, making way for someone else to devise the next set if business plans.

“Conditions are difficult in every market at the moment, money is very tight, especially here,” he told radioinfo.

Under those circumstances and “with the challenges currently facing the Gold Coast Media Centre,” Northern Regional General Manager Tim Davenport accepted Bartlett’s resignation today and will take over the running of the station until a new GM is appointed.

SCA’s regional television stations are affiliated with Channel 10, which is going through a ratings slump at the moment. With falling tv revenue, and not as much radio revenue available in the very competitive Gold Coast market, there are likely to be some tight times ahead for the Gold Coast Media Centre.

Bart intends to take a short break then see what next oportunity awaits him.
