I have had the most unreal time: Rosso and Ritchie leave Nova 969

Kate Ritchie broke down in tears as she farewelled Merrick, Rosso and the Nova listeners, signing off from the last show this morning. Rosso and Ritchie are leaving Nova, marking the end of an era for a station which changed the landscape of Sydney radio.

Merrick and Rosso were the inaugural breakfast hosts on Nova, and were joined by Ritchie a couple of years ago to freshen the act.

“I’ve had the most unreal time,” said Ritchie, who praised the comedy duo for their talent and professionalism.

“I hate the alarm clock and those fart sounds effects… I used to listen to the show… I was honoured when I was asked to join you guys,” she said as she made her parting comments.

Ritchie thanked listeners for welcoming her “into the gang” and said she found a confidence she did not know she had during her time on Nova.
