Melbourne has spoken and Nova 100 has listened with Clint Stanaway officially joining Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips on the breakfast show where he also acts as the newsreader.
This is significant because of the message that it sends ARN in particular. Clint had given up his Channel Nine TV responsibilities in September last year to focus exclusively on breakfast radio. At Nine he co-hosted Weekend Today, and was the weekend sports anchor for Melbourne’s 6pm news bulletin.
Since then, ARN, the network who unceremoniously dumped Jase, Lauren and Clint off Melbourne’s KIIS 101.1 for Kyle and Jackie O in November 2023 have seen that decision blow up spectacularly in their faces. Nova Entertainment also lost Ben, Liam and Belle to KIIS 1023 Adelaide, although Belle Jackson has returned to her role as producer with Ben and Liam now the named hosts.
Earlier this year Nova refreshed their marketing and there was quite a bit of listener feedback saying that Clint really did deserve to be named in the show lineup. Nova have taken that on board and acted.

Clint said that being acknowledged in this way was deeply meaningful:
“It’s both incredibly humbling and a really proud moment for me. Jase and Lauren have been so supportive throughout my career, and I’m genuinely grateful to them, to Nova and to the listeners who’ve
backed me every step of the way.”
Lauren added:
“Our show has always been built on the friendship between the three of us, so this change makes perfect sense. It’s been a long time coming and this is a really special and proud moment for our show.”
And, Jase joked the update was for practical purposes:
“Saying ‘Clint’s here too’ multiple times a morning really chews up airtime, so the name change just makes sense.
“Jokes aside, I couldn’t imagine this show without Clint. We’ve become great mates over the years, and I’m so proud of him. His contribution takes our show to a whole other level, and he absolutely deserves this recognition.”
In the recent GfK survey 2 Jase and Lauren were third in breakfast in Melbourne and had the largest cumulative audience. Just ahead of them on FM is ARN’s Gold 104.3’s Christian O’Connell who now airs in Sydney as well.
This decision, by Nova, makes a point there too. Christian’s newsreader Patrina Jones, who has always been a fundamental part of that show, now is catering to two cities’ news needs, and is physically unable to be as present as when they were speaking only to Melbourne.
Jase, Lauren & Clint airs weekdays on Nova 100 in Melbourne from 6am to 9am and nationally on
weekends from 8am to 10am. Listeners can also stream the show live or catch up via the Nova Player.
