As Australia day approaches, the John Butler Trio has become the first Australian artist to achieve a national number one position in 2010, according to the national radio airplay chart.

The chart, published here on radioinfo, shows that One Way Road pushed Ke$ha’s TiK ToK out of top position for the first time this year.

John Butler Trio is and independent artist, distributed by MGM. One Way Road received 526 spins in the past week, up from 502, compared with Ke$ha’s 523 spins.

John Butler’s song has so far been in the charts for 9 weeks. He is currently on tour around Australia.
