2SM’s John Laws has been presented with the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement award at the 2021 NRMA Kennedy Awards for NSW journalism.

Laws says he had no plans to be a radio announcer but “I’m probably the luckiest man in the world. The lifestyle I’ve had, the occupation into which I fell, I had no intention when I was growing up to be a broadcaster, I didn’t know what I wanted to be.

“I was lucky enough to fall into radio and I’ve just loved it.

 He began his career at 3BO Bendigo 68 years ago, and during the 1980’s and 1990’s his programs from 2UE and 2GB were networked around the country.
