Kevin O’Neill back on the Radio for a cameo

Now in retirement, Kevin O’Neill enjoyed an on-air radio career spanning over 40 years.

Been through more stations than Southern Aurora, as they say, Kevin commenced at 2BE Bega in 1960, following which he spent periods at stations in rural New South Wales and Victoria: 2VM Moree, 3CV Central Victoria, 2WG Wagga, 2LT Lithgow, 2KA Katoomba and 2GZ Orange as well as at 3XY Melbourne.   
 
He came to Sydney radio in 1975, and subsequently was heard on 2UE, 2KY, 2DAY-FM, and 2WS.

In Sydney, many listeners and colleagues will particularly recall his programs playing songs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s: “Jukebox Saturday Night” on 2WS from 1982 to 1985 and his Sunday night program “All Time Favourites” on 2KY in the 1990s and early 2000s.   And,overnight on Friday into Saturday mornings, he became M r Rock and Roll.

At 3pm on Tuesday, 22nd January (and repeated at 11am on Friday, 25th January), Kevin will be the guest in a one-hour “Special” on Brian Crabbe’s program “There goes that song again”, on Ryde-Hunters Hill community station, 2RRR 88.5FM and streamed on 2rrr.org.au.    
 
Kevin will talk about his radio career and play songs he has selected, mostly from 1960, the year he started in radio.
