While John Howard and Kevin Rudd have a nervous wait before they find out what their futures have in store, some time on Saturday night, Sydney FM breakfast duo, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O can sleep easy having already signed with 2Day FM for a further three years.

Commanding a cume of over 572,000 listeners each morning and an audience share of 11.6 per cent, their employer, Austereo, must also be breathing a sigh of relief as the duo have brought in tens of millions of advertising dollars.

Austereo Sydney’s General Manager, Helen Davies told radioinfo she was thrilled to have Kyle and Jackie re-sign with 2Day FM.

“Kyle and Jackie are an integral part of the network’s success and have an amazing connection with their audience.

“Breakfast with the stars will take on an all new meaning next year with Kyle spending several months of the year living in LA. He’ll be rubbing shoulders with A-List celebrities and Kyle and Jackie will bring that home exclusively to their Sydney audience.”

Kyle and Jackie said, “We’d like to take the humble approach of thanking all our listeners for waking up each day with us. Without their support, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to re-sign for the next three years. We would like to thank each and every one of them.”

The Kyle and Jackie O Show will return for 2008 on Monday, January 14
6am to 9am weekdays and nationally with the Hour of Power 6pm to 7pm on the Today Network.
