They’ve only been back on air for three days in 2017, but already KIIS 1065’s Kyle & Jackie O Show have pulled together one of their famous ‘Kyle & Jac Give Back’ segments to help one of their listeners who was in desperate need.
 
When Kyle & Jackie O heard the story of how 34-year-old single mum Melissa, and her four children, have been homeless since before Christmas they knew they wanted to help out the family.
 
Melissa was struck down with a back injury last year and after two surgeries she was left unable to work and pay rent.
 
Luckily, Melissa and her four boys were able to stay in a refuge, but as this is only temporary accommodation they need to be out by Friday.
 
The family have applied for 80 rental properties, but are yet to secure a home and with school going back next week things were starting to look desperate.
 
But this morning, Kyle & Jackie O invited Melissa in studio under the ruse that we would be asking Sydney to help her out with her situation – but really, they had a surprise in store.
 
With the help of Community First Real Estate, Kyle & Jackie O found a home for Melissa and her four boys, and will be paying the rent for the first three months, to give her time to recover from her injury and find work.
 
The family will also receive $15,000 worth of furniture from Mobilia Furniture Hire.
