Kyle Sandilands starts his own online petition

Kyle no longer vile as he enlists Change.Org for his own petition.

The last time Kyle engaged with an online petition was when an army of more than 35,000 online protestors were urging his employer to SackVileKyle.

This time his experience is likely to be more positive, as Kyle and Jackie O use the online tool to gather suport for same-sex marriage in Australia, asking 10,000 people to sign their petition, which reads:

“…There is the argument that marriage is for a man and a woman. Just because that is the “traditional” way doesn’t make it right. And we shouldn’t forget the fact that John Howard was the one who changed the laws to ban gay marriage – that’s how recently it happened.

“Once women and people of certain races weren’t allowed to vote, but society eventually realised how wrong it was to exclude them from a process that everyone else was allowed to participate in. The same goes for gay marriage…

“Australia must change. And that time is now!  Love Is Love!”

Kyle and Jackie O and 2DayFM are strong believers in Marriage Equality, and signatories of the petition are vocal in their support of the cause.

After launching during Friday on air and on the 2Day website, by just after midnight Saturday morning the petition was more than half way to achieving its target number of signtures.
