The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) has extended entries to the 2026 Awards encouraging stations, volunteers and content makers from across the country to now get them in before 11:59pm AEST on July 3.

The CBAA is particularly encouraging entries in categories including Excellence in Community Engagement, Excellence in Disability Content & Engagement, Excellence in Sponsorship, Excellence in Fundraising, Outstanding Technical Contribution and Outstanding Presenter: News & Current Affairs.

CBAA Communications and Content Coordinator Josh Cole said:
“Outstanding work is happening right across the community broadcasting sector, and we want to see it recognised. No matter where your station is located and no matter which communities you serve, we’d love to see your stories represented in the Awards.”

Award winners will be announced at the 2026 CBAA Conference in Geelong from 24-26 October.

The winner of the 2026 CBAA Most Valuable Volunteer competition has also been announced.

Mike Harris from Ten FM was named this year’s winner, recognised for more than 30 years of dedicated service to his station and community. Mike currently hosts three programs a week and he and his guide dog are familiar and welcome presences at Ten FM and throughout the local community. As part of the award, Mike receives a scholarship to attend the Geelong Conference.

The CBAA also congratulated runners-up Erin Menkens from triple t 103.9 and Maryanne Gore from Radio 1RPH for their significant contributions to their stations, their colleagues and their communities.
