This morning on The Christian O’Connell Show, a group of regular listeners were invited to not just sit in, but also be part of the show. Of late Christian has been involved in several projects to invite the audience backstage; including a mentoring program, a podcast taking you behind the scenes post breakfast and sometimes even a chance to come in and smash a window at ARN (seriously though, he’s not allowed to do that again!).
Six lucky callers from this week were invited into the GOLD104.3 studios to join Christian, Jack Post, producers Caitlin McArthur and Riordan Lee and news reader Patrina Jones as part of the show’s very first live audience.
Christian said on air:
“For the first time ever, we’re opening up the doors of the studio where Jack and I are in every morning, talking to you guys with producer Rio. We’re opening up to six listeners. We may do this once a month. We may never do this again. All will be answered during the next 30 minutes.”
Let’s hope the studio gets opened again. The listeners had a great time and if we want people to engage with radio and our people, this is a great way to do so.
Plus, nothing got broken.
