Marty Sheargold back on air

By Jen Seyderhelm

After a three month sabbatical to look after his mental health Marty Sheargold returned to his Triple M Melbourne breakfast show this morning.

Sheargold popped up on social media in December looking relaxed while out with fellow broadcasters and comedians Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann, Adam Rozenbachs, Titus O’Reily and Tom Gleeson.

I’m perhaps the slowest off the mark on this, but I watched Fisk during the festive break, the very funny Australian comedy which has been picked up by Netflix and making waves overseas. Helmed by Kitty Flanagan who plays brown pant suited Helen Tudor-Fisk, there was Marty Sheargold, playing her boss Ray Gruber. He’s brilliant.

Managing stand up comedy (he’s performing with Sam Pang, Mick Molloy and Lawrence Mooney in Victoria in early Feb), a TV series that is gaining momentum and a breakfast radio show last year can’t have been easy. I wonder, if Fisk gets picked up for another couple of series, whether he’ll have to let one of these threads go to continue to look after himself.
