Matty Acton’s attempt to fulfil his 12-year-old self’s dream of REALLY winning the 100m dash.

Ever since he was a kid, the B105 breakfast radio star, Matty Acton, has been bragging to anyone who would listen about his “legendary” sprinting talents.

Matty insists that when he was 12, he broke his Gladstone school’s record for the 100m dash in “13 seconds flat”, but Stav and Abby discovered their friend had been living a lie.

According to the school’s current PE teacher Mr Peters, he actually ran the race in 13.8 seconds AND tied with another boy.

Not only that, but Mr Peters said the record has been broken a whopping five times since then, with the last time being in 2008 with a boy running it in 13.3 seconds.

Matty maintained he was still an elite athlete, so Stav and Abby challenged him to put his money where his mouth is and prove it, so today he raced some pretty fast Queensland kids – and lost.

Racing today at QSAC was Phoenix from Victoria Point State School, Jonas from St Laurence’s (first placegetter), Tate from Patrick Rd State School, Jelena from Nashville St State School (third placegetter), Ava from Warwick State High School, Lillie from Ripley Valley State School, Lachlan from Windaroo Valley State High, Connor from Logan Reserve State School and Jayla from Faith Lutheran College.

In the end not having Olympian Sally Pearson a coach, or shaving his head and his beard could create the speed that Matty needed today. He lost. That is all.
