Max Gawn returns to Triple M as SCA resets for the AFL season

Melbourne captain Max Gawn return to the radio airwaves this morning on Triple M’s Mick in the Morning ahead of the start of the AFL Premiership season for 2025 and a turbulent year for his club in 2024.

Max discussed how the club’s culture has evolved following trade rumours surrounding Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca as well as Kozzy Pickett‘s future with a possible move to Fremantle.

Max has been a regular AFL contributor to Triple M Melbourne since 2023 and will continue to do so even with former St Kilda great Nick Riewoldt, the Roo of Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie also contributing. Max will appear twice a week, every Monday and either Thursday or Friday, game dependent.

With Triple M’s Melbourne drive show The Rush Hour with JB & Billy now networked into Adelaide and Perth, AFL-centric cities, SCA despite its woes in Sydney, should be fully prepped for the 2025 season, but there appears to be a lag with Triple M Rocks Footy AFL.

That podcast had been active up until February 15 and nothing since. It featured the first episode of The Howie Games special Pendlebury: Beyond 400, but not the rest of the series, although it is available on LiSTNR externally. Unusual for the pre-season lead up and perhaps a result of the network redundancies on February 20.

Mick in the Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie is on Melbourne’s 105.1 Triple M from 6-9am each weekday, also on LiSTNR. Triple M’s Rush Hour with JB & Billy is heard from 4-6 pm Monday to Friday across Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Triple M’s regional stations in the southern states.
