Melanie Tait joins ABC Local Radio Tasmania

Melanie Tait will be the new presenter of Statewide Evenings on ABC Local Radio Tasmania.

A highly regarded broadcaster of depth and experience, Melanie’s career in radio has taken her all over the country and honed her consummate skills as a story teller.

Melanie’s radio career started in commercial radio as a producer for John Laws and since then, she has worked as a producer, reporter and presenter on a range of local and national programs for ABC Local Radio, ABC Rural and more recently the Weekend Arts program on Radio National.

Melanie said, “An evening show is such a beautiful canvas for creative radio. It’s a chance to be with people at a time when they can be vulnerable, as well as a time when they might need some fun and interesting companionship. I know I can provide this.”

Local Content Manager Jocelyn Nettlefold is thrilled to have Melanie join the local team and warmly welcomes Melanie’s creative energy on-air and out in the community.

“She’s a generous broadcaster who’ll be excellent company each weeknight from 7pm to 10pm. I know Melanie can’t wait to connect with our listeners and she’ll have plenty of opportunities to do so in person hosting her acclaimed ‘Now Hear This,’ public event series, encouraging Tasmanians to share their stories and experiences,” said Jocelyn.

Melanie will commence in the role at the start of May.
