Melbourne FoxFM claims first for outdoor campaign

Fox FM is claiming to be the first radio station in Australia to use new Adshel technology that features audio in its new, innovative outdoor advertising campaign for The Matt and Jo breakfast show.

From Sunday 9 July, Melbourne commuters will hear segments of The Matt & Jo Show when waiting for a bus or tram. The technology allows for audio to be triggered by movement and so it plays immediately when anyone is nearby.

Every 15 minutes, hilarious sound bites from the show, including presenter Matt Tilley’s infamous ‘Gotcha Calls’, as well as grabs from FOX FM’s current television advertisement will be run.

Jeremy Macvean, Group Marketing Director of Austereo, told radioinfo: “we’re always on the lookout for new ways of getting our shows to listeners. Audio billboards like this have never been used by a radio station before and actually allow people to hear highlights of the show without needing headphones. It’s product sampling 24/7 from a billboard.”

The outdoor advertising initiative is one component of Fox’s latest ‘Copy Cat’ campaign, which also utilises TV, Online, On-Air and Cinema advertising.
