UPDATED – Mike Byrne and Pete Schmidt depart SRN

Mike Byrne has left the Super Radio Network and Network Content Director role he only commenced in January.

Mike shared on social media:

‘They say you learn a lot in difficult circumstances and by gee have I learnt a lot over the past few months.

There’s a few really good people at SRN who are passionate and work really hard and I wish them all the best of luck moving forward.

For now I’m gonna hook the van, hit the road and see what’s in store for the rest of 2026 when I get home.’

Peter Schmidt joined SRN at the same time as Mike (both pictured) and has also finished his contract in the role of Group Technology Manager today.

Peter said:

“I knew it was just a short-term contract, but it was a joy to be involved in radio once again after such a break. I forgot what a buzz it can bring to you. Such a great opportunity to again work with the industry heavyweights like Rhys Holleran and Graham Mott.

The foundations have been laid for the group to be all on one page and heading in the same positive direction under the continued guidance of the CEO and the Chair.”

Group Sales Manager Gavin Flanagan departed the network earlier this week too.

Newly appointed SRN CEO Graham Mott told radioinfo yesterday that “the board has not made any decision to sell the network” and is looking to strategically grow revenue as it reviews its business plans over the next 12 months.
