Mix breakfast crew congratulate Wendy Harmer

Hoping to capitalize on the departure of Wendy Harmer and the breakfast crew from 2 DAY FM, the cheeky breakfast team at ARN’s Mix 106.5 sent a press release congratulating Wendy Harmer for her years at 2DAY, telling her that now she has the chance to listen to Mix in the mornings.

In the latest ratings 2DAY breakfast scored 8.5% (down 1.7) and MIX breakfast scored 5.3% (up 0.9).

The release reads:

Sammy & Jason congratulated Wendy
Harmer on her 11 year radio career following news that she would hang up the
microphone at the end of the month.

Sammy & Jason said Wendy was a key figure in Sydney radio and had
contributed significantly to the breakfast timeslot over the years.

“Getting up every morning at the crack of dawn for an extended period of
time is not easy: Wendy thoroughly deserves a break,”
they said.

“We suspect that as a mum, in the 25 – 54 age bracket, it won’t take long
for Wendy to tune into ‘Sammy & Jason in the mornings’. It’s much more her
demographic. We know she’s been a closet listener for years.

“Despite being fierce competitors, Wendy has always been a friend of the
show and together with all staff at MIX 106.5 FM we wish Wendy all the
best.”

The Australian Radio Network’s MIX 106.5 FM recorded the largest increase
in listeners across all Sydney radio stations in the latest ratings survey,
jumping by 1.4 per cent to 7.4.

MIX 106.5 FM, which attracted a total of 692,000 listeners, also recorded an
increase in the 25 – 39 age bracket.

While all MIX 106.5 FM programs strengthened their positions in the latest
survey, the breakfast show, ‘Sammy and Jason in the Mornings’, was the star
performer recording the strongest increase in the breakfast timeslot.
