New Country Music stations for WA regional areas

A new country music radio service, operated by Northwest Narrowcasters, has begun in Carnarvon Western Australia.

The station, known as Carnarvon FM 87.6, began transmitting last week with a 24/7 country music format.

“People in regional areas miss out on programming variety compared to the city people. What we’re about is to provide some choice for those people,” says Phil Youd, PD/MD of Northwest Narrowcasters.

Carnarvon FM is the first of several new stations to start, with the next scheduled for in Broome, followed by Karratha and Port Hedland.
