New Sunshine Coast Station Hot 91 launching next week

Queensland Sunshine Coast’s newest radio station will be called Hot 91 and will go to air next week, from midday on Monday October 27. The station will be officially launched by Craig David.

Big Brother runner up Chrissie Swan and radio veteran Ronnie Stanton will form the breakfast team.

Chrissie Swan says: “We are
glad the name and launch date is released now and are just itching to get on air and have some fun with the Sunshine Coast.”

Program Director Anna Willems told radioinfo about getting Craig David for the launch: “As part of the excitement on launch day, Hot 91 have secured international singer/song writer Craig David who will make a special visit to the Sunshine
Coast and launch the station.

“With Craig David in Australia promoting his concerts, [we] saw a perfect fit with the music format and are delighted Craig David will join the new Breakfast Duo, Chrissie & Ronnie on air at midday.

“It’s not often that you have an international artist that suits your music
format in the country at the same time of launching a new radio station,
fortunately it is just great timing which is a real coup for us. Craig David
will perform an acoustic set live.”

General Manager, Darryl Watherston has some great plans for Hot 91. He said: “The Sunshine Coast will certainly have something fresh and new to tune into.”
