New WiFi, DAB module receives everything

Reciva Limited, the company that makes the module inside most WiFi radio products, today launches the world’s first complete digital radio hardware and software solution, called Stingray.

The new integrated module is designed to
receive all digital radio streams from the Internet, decoding RealAudio, Windows Media, AAC and MP3 Internet streams, as well as current and future DAB standards.

Reciva-enabled Internet radios are currently on sale in Australia, UK, USA and Japan from major brand names like Grundig, Acoustic Energy, Bush and BT.

Additionally, the company offers a web based guide and tuning service for users of products based on the module.

Ian Henderson, Director of Sales at Reciva, says:

“Most consumers are interested in being able to access a variety of content as well as being interested in how it is delivered.

“The Stingray module offers the complete package for brand name customers who want to build products that enable listeners to enjoy the fantastic range of global digital content now available via the Internet, while still having access to traditional DAB and FM radio broadcasts.

“By fully embracing all current media, Stingray will offer state-of-the art listening in one easy-to-use device.”
