Nova Network bolsters Melbourne and Sydney music teams

Toni Pipicelli returns. Kristine Pymont new music director at Nova Sydney.

dmg Radio has bolstered the Nova Network’s music teams in Sydney and Melbourne with the return of Toni Pipicelli and a promotion for Kristine Pymont.

Pipicelli returns in the new role of Group Music Operations Director, based in Melbourne, after 12 months maternity leave. The role will be instrumental in the roll out of dmg Radio’s new play out systems, the expansion of partnerships including Rdio and Jetstar, and the company’s digital and analogue radio portfolios. She begins on June 23rd.

Mike Cass, dmg Radio’s Assistant Group Program Director said: “With so many exciting projects coming up in the next 12 months, it’s great to have Toni back in the team in Melbourne to drive these forward.”

Toni Pipicelli joined dmg Radio in November 2001 as Promotions and Project Manager for Nova 96.9 and in April 2003 was promoted to Assistant Music Director. In January 2006 she moved to Melbourne to take up the role of Assistant Program Director for Nova 100. Three years later Toni returned to Sydney as Music Director for Nova 96.9 and was promoted to Group Music Director for the Nova Network in 2010.

After having “the most incredible year to learn the basics of being a mum,” Toni says she is “looking forward to being back at dmg and working across all the music properties on some very exciting projects. Being home in Melbourne just makes this role even sweeter, as I get to ensure my daughter really understands why she will be a Hawks supporter for life!”

Pymont, who has been acting Music Director for Nova 96.9, will take over the role permanently, effective immediately.

Kristine Pymont joined dmg Radio in February 2011 as Assistant Music Director for Nova 96.9. Kristine got her start in the industry in 2002 as Charts Coordinator at The Music Network prior to becoming Music Programmer for Stellar Inflight in June 2004. Two years later she joined the XYZ Networks working in programming across all Music Channels and then as Music Scheduler for Max. In March 2008 she was promoted to Music Programmer for Channel V.

Brendan Taylor, Nova 96.9 Program Director said: “Kristine has done an outstanding job over the last 12 months. Her passion and commitment to discovering and breaking ‘hit’ music makes her the ideal choice and we’re thrilled to promote her to Music Director at Nova 96.9.”
