NZ duo Jase Hawkins and PJ Harding heading to Australia, but not to HIT

There’s plenty of buzz around the corridors of radio networks in Australia this week amid the announcement popular New Zealand drive time radio hosts Jase Hawkins and PJ Harding are leaving ZM for a “radio opportunity overseas”.

Questions are being asked as to whether they could be Hamish & Andy‘s successors when they depart the drive shift on SCA‘s Hit Network at the end of the year. However the NZ pair are definitely not heading to SCA.

radioinfo contacted SCA for comment with a spokeperson telling us: “Jase and PJ are not signed to SCA and are not joining our line-up”.

So there are two other major networks where they may fit: Nova and ARN.

Our tip is ARN.

Earlier this month Austereo CEO Guy Dobson told Fairfax Media that both Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little were “among the top contenders to replace Hamish and Andy at the end of the year.”

Bickmore and Little currently present a one hour afternoon show on Hit network stations, before then going onto their other commitments such as The Project and Little’s comedy shows.

Adding fuel to the rumours about Hamish and Andy’s timeslot and the New Zealand duo from ZM was a photo uploaded by 2Day FM breakfast producer Christian Hull giving a shout out to Jase & PJ who were sporting his comedy character Trish’s merchandise.

So now there are two mysteries we are tracking – Hamish and Andy’s replacements and which station Jase and PJ will turn up on.

Watch this space.
