Peter Whitehead has officially departed his role as ARN’s Chief Commercial Officer, after eight-and-a-half years with the company.
In January this year, it was announced that Whitehead’s role would no longer exist in its current form, under a restructure which also saw ARN’s Chief Content Officer Duncan Campbell transition to a consulting and advisory role.
Whitehead – who previously spent 13 years at SCA – says he’s now looking forward to stepping away from the regular Melbourne-Sydney commute and enjoying a short break, before setting the course for his next adventure.
When he first set foot the old red brick Pelaco Building on Richmond Hill back in 2016, ARN was a network of ten metro radio stations, with audience delivery measured by paper diaries.
As Whitehead posted to LinkedIn, much has changed in the decade since:
“The little network that once punched above its weight now boasts a truly national footprint of 58 radio stations in 33 markets, 46+ DAB+ stations, and sales representation of another 56 stations.”
“As Chief Commercial Officer for the past six years, I’ve had the honour of leading a team of incredibly talented people who have worked tirelessly with our clients and agency partners to deliver best-in-market campaigns across the many platforms of the ARN Audiosphere.”
Whitehead says his job was made infinitely easier by the calibre of people that he worked with or brought into ARN’s teams over the years.
“I’ve been fortunate to work in partnership with some of the most astute operators in the industry, who have played a pivotal role in ARN’s evolution from a small radio network to the national audio powerhouse it is today.”
“Their passion, creativity, and commitment have been the driving force behind our success, and I am deeply grateful to have worked alongside them all.”
“To Ciaran Davis and the ARN Leadership Team – thank you for the opportunity to be part of this incredible journey.”
