Penny Ghosn appointed Nine Radio Sydney News Director

Penny Ghosn has been appointed the Sydney News Director for Nine Radio. She announced the news on LinkedIn saying:

“I can’t wait to serve the most loyal and passionate listeners in the country.

With the election campaign underway, it’s a huge privilege and awesome responsibility to ensure we’re delivering the information people need to be informed and engaged as they make a crucial decision for our country’s future.”

Penny’s new role comes alongside Nine Entertainment appointing Brendan Hockings as News Director in Queensland and Michael Genovese in the same role in Western Australia back in January. Last September Gareth Parker moved from Perth to Sydney to take up a newly created role as Nine Network News Content Director. He was 9News Perth’s Director of News.

Penny is trained as a journalist with producer roles with Sky News and Seven and most recently working as Transport for NSW Director of Media (Operations).

Michael Pachi, who was Sydney Nine Radio News Director looks to now be focusing on his role as Federal Political Editor. Some interesting changes in an election year with Nine station 4BC in Brisbane also confirming that weekend breakfast news bulletins will now be networked from Sydney’s 2GB.
