Prime Radio Flood Relief Appeal raises over $280K

Prime Radio Queensland’s Flood Relief Appeal was embraced by local communities with donations exceeding all expectations.  With on air pledges and an online eBay auction, using donated items from clients, the Queensland Flood Relief Radio Appeal raised $281,936.

“In all my years in radio, I have not experienced this kind of support and generosity.  We have be inundated with phone calls throughout Queensland, from listeners ringing with their pledge and others going online to our websites and bidding on the eBay auction,” says Prime Radio’s Group General Manager Rick Chapman.

“Today has delivered a wonderful result but the impact that will continue from this appeal over the coming weeks will be businesses and organisations committing to run further fundraising events, helping keep the Premiers Queensland Flood Relief Appeal growing.  It’s truly been a humbling experience fielding calls from children, families, businesses, sporting groups and everyday people who have generously handed over their hard earned money.”

The 12 hour radio appeal held last week officially wrapped up last Friday with the appeal tally building throughout the day.
