Pure gentleman retires

Graeme Redman, the man behind the Pure digital radio brand in Australia, is retiring.

For the past 13 years Redman, the Managing Director of PURE Australasia Pty Ltd, has supported Australia’s push into digital radio by bringing the best digital receivers to this country.

Victorian based Redman has travelled all over the country distributing and promoting digital radio receivers. He has told radioinfo:

It has been a most interesting and rewarding journey, a fascinating opportunity to be involved with the introduction of a new technology in radio.

Apart from FM in the 70s, digital has been the only change in the radio platform in 90 years (and I’m not that old yet). I first became involved in 2001 when the technology was embryonic and then survived the extended trials to August 2009, the official launch in Australia, putting Pure on the map as the dominant supplier of digital radios to the industry throughout the trials.

As I sign off, I would like to thank you for all your interest in our products and your support and friendship during the very extended gestation period the technology went through, at times it seemed like it would never happen.

I have enjoyed your fellowship and my association with radioinfo during this journey and sincerely thank you for that.

The Pure banner will continue to be carried in Australia by the distribution partners, Pioneer Electronics. Contact: Simon Butterworth, [email protected]
