Radio hosts rally around family in need

Mix102.3′s Jodie & Soda have rallied around a South Australian couple who lost everything apart from the clothes on their back in a devastating house fire, helping raise tens of thousands of dollars worth of donations after their home and belongings were tragically destroyed.

Danielle Frankish and Tanya Agius came home on Friday 2nd June to witness their home engulfed in flames, just weeks before Tanya was set to give birth to their second baby.

Apart from saving their beloved dog from inside the home and a handful of clothes on the clothesline, the Fire Brigade was unable to salvage anything.

The damage was so severe their insurer was not able to cover the entire cost of the home, and the couple have been left stranded.

After hearing the news, Jodie and Soda organised a rescue mission to help Tanya, Danny and their two year old daughter Evie get back on their feet days before the birth of their newest family member.

The story warmed the hearts of Adelaide with a long list of people and businesses jumping on board to help support the women in their time of need.

Over the last two weeks a total of $23,816 worth of homewares and clothing has kindly been donated through Mix 102.3’s Jodie and Soda To The Rescue including bedding, kitchenware and food vouchers.

Late last week the good news continued with Dani and Tanya welcoming little baby boy Reno into the world. Despite not having a permanent place to live, the family is grateful for the support of the Adelaide community.

“The community are incredible. Thank you, thank everybody because it really has made this a whole lot more bearable like we can be back on our feet and moving forward.”
