Radio National launches The Lonely Hearts Club

Men’s hearts, health, hip pockets and happiness get airtime on ABC Radio National with the world premiere broadcast of The Lonely Hearts Club, an 8-episode series about love, loss, laments and ladies.

Hosted by lonely men who have tasted the highs and lows of life and love. The Lonely Hearts Club begins Saturday 12 February at 10pm until midnight.

The Lonely Hearts Club features four gentlemen with little or no broadcasting experience. Four gentlemen who have never hosted a radio show before. Four gentlemen who met at a men’s group in Healesville, Victoria.  They include Richard Silk (entrepreneur), Duncan Jardine (director), Lucas Dawson (choreographer), Terry Wood (athlete) with guests Roger Cunnington (inventor) and Wesley de Shon (poet).

“Hearts will be broken, secrets will be revealed, lessons will be learnt and at some point, someone will storm out. Because love’s like that,” said Richard Silk, novice host and founding member of The Lonely Hearts Club.

“The Lonely Hearts Club is a welcome addition to the ABC Radio National schedule that will tackle those issues close to men’s hearts with pathos and insight,” said Michael Mason, Acting Manager, ABC Radio National.
