Highlights:

  • Sydney and Melbourne – Uncomfortable drops for Christian O’Connell. Down 1.3 in Melbourne to now sit 4th in breakfast, Gold drops in Sydney.
  • More drops for KIIS 106.5 breakfast, from 1st FM in survey 2 to equal thrid with the local ABC.

  • SEN 1170 and Sky Sports Radio the biggest breakfast gains mid footy season.
  • Melbourne – Another 1% gain for Ross and Russ, well ahead on breakfast.
  • Nova 100’s Jase, Lauren and Clint No 1 FM, Fifi, Fev and Nick at The Fox FM up to a 10% share too.
  • Huge cume losses for ARN in Sydney and Melbourne

  • Adelaide – Exceptional survey for FIVEaa, but not for the ABC. David and Will on breakfast were up 2.5% to very nearly pinch No 1 from Roo, Ditts and Loz at Triple M. They were up 1.9 too, and the station clear No 1 in the city.
  • Perth – Biggest gains for the No 1 Nova 93.7. Mix 94.5 fell back. Significant drops for talk stations 6PR and the ABC on breakfast too.
  • CADA’s audience continues to grow in Sydney.
  • ABC Sport up to a 115K cume audience in Sydney, which is their best result.
  • DANCE HITS the most popular in Melbourne.

The survey was conducted by GfK for Commercial Radio Australia between Sun Apr 19 to Sat Jun 27, 2026.

CRA‘s Chief Executive Lizzie Young said:
We continue to see the same trend – despite fragmentation, economic uncertainty and ever-increasing competition for attention – record numbers of Australians continue to choose commercial radio for news, information, sport, entertainment from their favourite hosts, and community connection.

“On the one hand I feel a bit like a broken record, on the other I know the consistency we deliver survey after survey compounds into a strong case for marketers.

“As Professor Mark Ritson pointed out recently at Cannes – audio is the secret to profit and trust for brands. The case for audio’s effectiveness is unequivocal; in every market we’ve studied globally audio is the catalyst that makes your whole campaign work harder.”
