SAFM farewells Alex Flack as he takes a break from radio

It’s a sad week at Adelaide’s SAFM, with Content Director Alex Flack departing After 12 years at SCA.

Having notched up 22 years in the industry, he’s taking a break from radio.

A hugely popular member of the SCA family, Flack’s radio career has seen him work all over Australia in a host of different roles, from executive producing to hosting.

Head of Hit Metro Content, Amanda Lee says “‘Flack’, as he is affectionately known, has enjoyed an expansive career with SCA, moving all over the countryside from Newcastle, to Perth, to Cairns before settling in Adelaide in recent years.”

“We have loved Flack’s candour, friendship, advice and, above all, his infectious passion for radio and the Hit brand.”

“On behalf of the Hit Network I want to thank Flack for his ongoing commitment, talent, passion, and hard work throughout his SCA career.”

“We wish him all the best for his next chapter and hope that he enjoys the sleep-ins.”

Of his decision to leave, Flack says “Radio isn’t a job, it’s an obsession. For the last 12 years with SCA, I’ve been very fortunate to indulge that passion. However, it’s time for the next obsession; ideally one that involves sleeping past 4:30am.”

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Southern Cross Austereo, working with amazing people, huge learning opportunities and most of all creating memorable content.”

“Serving as Content Director for SAFM has been the high point of my career. A huge thank you to everyone that has supported me over the journey, and I wish SCA continued success.”
