SCA Brisbane has re-signed as media partner for The Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), continuing the 30 plus year relationship between B105, 104.5 Triple M and Queensland’s beloved annual event. Held at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds, this year’s Ekka run from Saturday August 10 to Sunday August 18.
In the past the stations have brought performances from artists like Katy Perry to the show, gave away a Harley Davidson, hosted Triple M’s Battle of the Bands and, last year, B105’s Carrie & Tommy Drive Show invited Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to aim a throw to see if he could dunk Tommy Little in a giant water machine, live on-air during their national broadcast. Albanese’s aim was good with the main picture Tommy about to drop.
B105 is the naming rights sponsor of Sideshow Alley and the Kids Carnival. Listeners can win by tuning into the Stav, Abby & Matt Breakfast show and throughout the workday. B105 is a finalist for Station of the Year at the upcoming 2024 ACRA Awards.

The station is also supporting Ekka with its charitable cause Containers for Change. Listeners and attendees can donate eligible containers via the collection site set-up in Gregory Terrace.
After dark 104.5 Triple M Brisbane starts EkkaNITES in the main arena. Triple M’s Breakfast show, Marto, Margaux & Dan will also be giving away tickets, with some lucky listeners winning the opportunity to launch the Ekka fireworks. Triple M’s Drive show, The Rush Hour with Leisel Jones, Liam & Dobbo, will broadcast live from Stockman’s Bar on Tuesday, 13 August from 4-6pm.
Triple M are also asking if they should revive the legendary Triple M showbag (pictured below), with a resounding YES from fans.

Executive General Manager for SCA Queensland, Ken Wood, said:
“We are excited to have the opportunity to again partner with the RNA and the Ekka for over 30 years. It’s as synonymous with Brisbane as B105 and Triple M and something we look forward to supporting every year.”
This year’s Ekka is expecting around 400,000 people through the gates.
