SCA‘s two stations 102.3 Triple M and Hit 103.1 are still No 1 and 2 in the latest Xtra Insights survey of Townsville. ARN’s Power100 and Star 106.3 switched places into third and fourth respectively with Power100 being the biggest mover overall.
Cliffo and Kate, Guy “Cliffo” Clifton and Kate Jeboult new together on Triple M Breakfast in 2024 replacing long time and ACRA Hall of Famer Steve ‘Pricey’ Price when he retired last year, have increased their lead at the top, up 1.9 to 22.2. The new Power100 pairing of Archie and Donny (pictured below) were up 1.6 to 13.2 and the Hit pairing of Bronte and Lakey also up 1.0 to 20.1. Bronte and Cliffo were on Hit Breakfast together in 2023. Bronte Langbroek has moved to network with Danny Lakey out of the Gold Coast.
All of the above new and adapted pairings are working with only Star’s equally fresh in 2024 duo Jack and Dannii seeing a drop, down 4.1 to 12.0 in breakfast and a 2.4% decrease in all audiences 10+ to 12.3. Star suffered the biggest losses to their audience under 40. ABC stations too were either steady or saw losses with ABC NQ and ABC Classic both seeing their share of over 65s fall away.
Cumulative audiences were all healthy, especially for Triple M and Power100 with only ABC RN seeing a decrease. Across sessions the same was true with a big surge in listeners checking out Triple M in breakfast, mornings, the Drive Rush Hour team of recent ACRA Award winning A.B (Annabelle Brett – Best Sports presenter Non-Metro and pictured above) and Elliott, and on the weekend.
