Seven makes a statement with The Agenda Setters: Rugby League

The Seven Network are set to launch a new weekly panel show, The Agenda Setters: Rugby League, on Monday March 9, live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport. There will also be an accompanying podcast available on LiSTNR and all podcast platforms. This is a major statement by the network of their interest in the NRL broadcast rights, which currently belong with Nine Entertainment, but come to an end at the conclusion of the 2027 season.

Building on the success of The Agenda Setters: AFL, this all-new series will deliver sharp analysis, breaking news and unfiltered debate led by SENQ breakfast co-host and former Brisbane Broncos champion Corey Parker.

The Agenda Setters: Rugby League panel also includes three-time premiership winner and Clive Churchill medalist Luke Keary, multi club playing forward and and Triple M Sydney Breakfast host Aaron Woods, and one of the game’s most respected analysts, Daily Telegraph and CODE Sports Chief Sports Writer, David Riccio.

Also regular contributors are 7NEWS sport reporters Matt White who recently departed SEN, Shane Webcke and Jelisa Apps.

Corey Parker said:

“The Agenda Setters: Rugby League will be doing exactly that, setting the agenda for the week with all of the biggest stories on the panel. Woodsy, Kez, Riccio and I are never short of an opinion so I’m looking forward to debating and discussing every element of the game.”

The return of Matt White to Seven, SEN missing out on the purchase of Nine’s radio stations and the upcoming end of Nine Entertainment’s NRL broadcast rights would seem to indicate that the Seven Network, the newly merged Seven West Media (SWM) and Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) plus SEN may be banding together towards their own bid.

The AFL Agenda Setters, which launched in 2025, is hosted by SEN CEO Craig Hutchison, SEN 1116‘s Kane Cornes and Triple M Melbourne Breakfast co-host Nick Riewoldt.

The Agenda Setters: Rugby League is part of Seven’s expanding rugby league slate, ahead of the network’s exclusive live and free coverage of the Rugby League World Cup 2026 on Seven and 7plus Sport in October and November.
