Spike Milligan Tribute Show in Melbourne

“I told you I was ill” is a tribute to the life of Spike Milligan in Melbourne.

Join some of Australia’s most talented performers in a special one off event as they pay tribute to the amazing comic genius of Terence Alan “Spike” Milligan.

On Sunday 6 October, live at the Melbourne Comedy Theatre (240 Exhibition St), Rod Quantock, Brian Dawe, Mary Keneally, Katriona Mathers and others will come together to share their experiences and memories of Spike. It BEGIns at 8.00pm,

Hosted by 774 ABC Melbourne presenter, Peter Clarke, the evening will be a chronological look at Spike Milligan’s life based on an obituary he wrote as a joke for himself in the early 1990’s. The night will include interviews, personal anecdotes, readings, Goon Show performances, music (from Derek Guille’s band – The Ugly Uncles), and tributes.

It will not only explore his comedy, but also take a look into his much publicised struggle with manic depression, his passion for music, his love of children and his work for the environment.
