Survey 2 cumes: Mike Perso the smoothest man in Melbourne

Perhaps in GfK Radio 360 Survey 2 results you might have expected in Melbourne some growth in breakfast cumulative audiences for Nova 100’s Jase and Lauren (yes) and 101.9 Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick (also yes) as the holding pattern continues before Kyle and Jackie O take the reins at KIIS 101.1. Few would have suggested that the growth of smooth 91.5 Mike Perso’s (pictured) audience, more than 90,000 people if you please, would be so significant that his cumulative listenership would exceed breakfast leaders Ross and Russ on 3AW, but here we are, and what a message it sends.

In Sydney smooth 95.3’s Bogart Torelli also saw more than 25K growth, as did 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed and Erin with WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda’s 45K increase the best for the city.

Brisbane saw Nova 106.9‘s Ash Luttsy and Susie and Hit 105’s Stav, Abby and Matt mostly steady but 30K rises in cumulative listening for KIIS’s Robin and Kip, Marto, Margaux and Dan at Triple M, triple j’s Bryce and Chet and BBQ Bob Gallagher on 4BH, which is a great result for radio and Brissie breakfast.

Jodie and Hayesy have the most cumulative listeners in Adelaide on Nova 919 with the new pairing of Max and Ali at Mix close behind. Nova 93.7 Nath, Nat and Shaun‘s dropped 20K but are still well ahead in Perth.

The biggest losses were for 2GB’s Ben Fordham and the ABC‘s Craig Reucassel in Sydney and Gold 104.3‘s Christian O’Connell (who seems to go up and down like a yoyo survey to survey) and particularly Triple M’s Marty Sheargold, down more than 50K and sadly not picking up listeners exploring the dial in Melbourne.

KIIS 106.5 is still the most listened to station overall but a drop of 60K in cumulative listenership in Sydney, and possibly a more expected 80K in Melbourne means a lot of ground to make up Survey 3.

Gold 104.3 and Nova 96.9 had a great survey 1. Nova’s Sydney drop of 125K cumulative listeners would be particularly disappointing. As reflected in breakfast listening 2GB, ABC Sydney, Triple M and also triple j Melbourne saw large losses in audiences.

The most significant cumulative growth was for Mix 94.5 Perth, smooth Melbourne and biggest of all SEN 1116, up by 60K.
