720 ABC Radio Perth’s Breakfast Blitz campaign has seen listeners across Perth donating breakfast items to help people experiencing homelessness this winter. One listener, Heather, was especially affected by the story of Brendon whose family has lost their house, job and car.

Breakfast presenter Mark Gibson had spoken with Brendon who shared his family’s experience with homelessness after a series of unfortunate events. Following the interview, ABC Radio Perth received a huge response from the community, keen to help. In an incredible moment you can listen to and watch above and below, listener Heather got in touch, keen to donate a car to Brendan and his family, to help them get back on track.

You can still donate to ABC Radio Perth’s Breakfast Blitz, items like non-perishable breakfast items, at locations across Perth. Donations will be used by Uniting WA to help those in need at their Tranby Engagement Hub, where they provide a warm drink, some breakfast and a friendly ear to people who have spent the night sleeping rough.
