The Radio Year That Was: 2021 told in our 30 most read stories

2021 was another year marked by covid. With its effects on radio listening, it is little wonder that three ratings results for Survey 1, 5 and 6 all made it into the top 10.

More of a wonder is that a story we first published in 2015, Alan are you a homosexual? still made it into #7 most read in 2021. For the record, yes, he is. But no, we don’t care one way or the other, although it seems to be a question for the ages amongst many who, while browsing the net, come to discover that very direct headline each year.

A story with an even longer tail, coming in at #18, harks back to 2006 when the old MIX106.5 “accidentally” gave away 3 x $50,000 prizes instead of the one that was budgeted for.  Apparently, it remains a lesson for stations everywhere on how not to run a on-air contest.
