Triple M to Relaunch with Campaign Palace

Triple M has appointed a new advertising agency as it prepares to relaunch the network and recapture some of the glory of the 1980s and ’90s.

After years of marketing silence and a ‘lost’ period, Austereo has appointed The Campaign Palace to handle the advertising for its relaunch.

It’s not known how much money Austereo is prepared to pour into the relaunch.

After rating 18% in the early 1990s – with just two commercial FM stations on the dial – audience share has dropped to around 6%, with Sydney the worst performer.

In the past 18 months, Triple M has rejigged its drive and breakfast programs to bring in younger listeners to top up its older fans, who have grown up with the stations.

The key target will be predominantly men aged 25-34, but not aimed at Nova.
