WA Premier, Mark McGowan, had a busy morning with visits to mix94.5’s The Big Breakfast with Clairsy, Matt & Kymba, and then onto hit92.9 to speak to Heidi, Xavier & Ryan.

The topic that was forefront for both stations was violence against women.

At mix94.5, following an emotional, heartfelt plea to the people of Perth earlier this morning from Kymba, the Premier shared his own personal experience of domestic violence, telling how he’d been terrified as a child when witnessing a friends “…Dad beat his Mum up.”

 
At hit92.9 the Premier spoke to Heidi, Xavier & Ryan commenting on the Pink Taxis WA initiative the station is launching in collaboration with ComfortDelGro.

A pre-launch of the female only driven taxi service took place earlier this year but the official launch of Pink Taxis WA takes place today, with the Premier calling the idea very important, saying “These sorts of things to support women’s security is very important.”
