Smooth sailing for NOVA Entertainment – GfK Survey 3 cumes

GfK Radio 360 Survey 3 was a good one for NOVA Entertainment. They have the largest cumulative audiences listening to smooth 95.3 Sydney and Nova 100 Melbourne and their respective breakfast shows hosted by Bogart Torelli and Jase, Lauren and Clint (pictured main). There was additional improvement to smooth 91.5 and Mike Perso in Melbourne and Nova 106.9 Brisbane after listeners initially responded badly to the departure of Ash Bradnam from breakfast.

The other networks saw some good with some bad. ARN finally saw the impact of Kyle and Jackie O‘s breakfast departure. KIIS 1065 Sydney saw more than 100K listeners head elsewhere and breakfast dropped by 130,000. By way of comparison, 130K is Cathy Jubb on Sydney’s 2UE breakfast entire cume audience and she was one of the big improvers in the city this survey. Gold 101.7’s Christian O’Connell did however pick up listeners, as did the station. KIIS Melbourne, for the first time in decades, had more listeners overall than KIIS Sydney.

For SCA, Fifi, Fev and Nick on The Fox FM in Melbourne were steady but due to other drops are third overall most listened to show and station. It was also a great survey for the network in Brisbane and Perth. B105 the most listened to in the former and gains by Mix 94.5 on Nova’s lead in the latter. Unfortunately in Sydney 2DayFM, in the survey where they were the most likely to pick up listeners from KIIS, lost them instead. Triple M however fared well across the board.

Tapt Media was steady for most of their stations with the exception of Brisbane’s 4BC who continue to struggle. There were gains for ABC Sydney and Melbourne. SEN 1116 in Melbourne had perhaps its best result on record too, which could well improve over the next two surveys with the addition of coverage of the soccer world cup.
