Super Radio Network station 2MG in Mudgee is up and streaming making it and the network’s Sydney station 2SM plus Newcastle‘s 2HD and NEWFM accessible to listen to anywhere.
2MG switched to FM in 2024. The other SRN Mudgee station Real FM is not yet available.
Radioinfo took 2MG for a spin this morning. It is one of the easiest to use as you don’t have to log in or wait for a pop up box to emerge. It is the press of a button and away you go. Audio quality was excellent.
I caught the 11am news with Dianne Coveny-Garland which was networked from 2SM Sydney. The bulletin however was largely Queensland news with not a single local to the Mudgee region story.
Pleased to see the SRN starting to making accessibility for the regional communities they service to listen online and wherever they are more easily but it really is a sign of how far away from local new services have become, for all networks not just SRN, except for in breakfast and drive.

Excellent news. Hopefully more Super Radio stations will follow. It just makes sense from an audience and revenue-generating perspective.
