The ABC has reached an agreed position on the 2025-2028 Enterprise Agreement (EA) following conciliation at the Fair Work Commission (FWC) with the support of the CPSU, MEAA and independent bargaining representatives.
An ABC spokesperson has told radioinfo:
“The proposed agreement includes an annual pay increase of 4 per cent in the first year and 3.25 per cent in each of the second and third years, with back pay to the first full pay period after 1 October 2025. It also delivers clearer progression pathways between pay bands, targeted performance bonuses, retention of existing promotion provisions and enhanced leave entitlements.”
The Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA) has welcomed ABC management’s “acknowledgement that ABC staff need fair pay and secure employment to do their jobs through its revised offer.”
MEAA Chief Executive, Erin Madeley, described the offer – which includes a 10.5% pay increase over three years (with year one backdated to Oct 2025), and improved pay-band progression pathways, as “a significant improvement following last week’s strike action.”
The CPSU and MEAA will now consult members ahead of a staff vote in coming days, to be conducted in line with Fair Work Act requirements.
The agreement follows last week’s strike action.
