Just two months ago, as the Seven West Media (SWM) and Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) merger came to fruition, then Group Managing Director of Seven TV Angus Ross departed, with Seven’s former chief operating officer Rohan Lund being appointed CEO in April.
Now, Angus Ross returns as the Managing Director of television and streaming for the Southern Cross Media Group. Ross had worked for Seven for 27 years and was a highly respected media executive before his March departure.
It is worth mentioning SCA network rival ARN here.
Since Michael Stephenson took over as CEO a little over a year ago, the former Nine Network Chief Sales Officer has brought over to his new home quite a few of his former Nine colleagues.
That includes Richard Hunwick to Sales Director. Kerri Elstub to Chief Content Officer and last week’s announcement of a new multiplatform show for Karl Stefanovic and Eddie McGuire, both Nine Network stalwarts.
While the newly merged SCA hasn’t explicitly stated it is also seeking to become an ‘entertainment network’ as ARN has, the bolstering of the TV arm with Ross’s re-appointment indicates a broadening of horizons with the people they know can best deliver in those roles.
