The news that Thy, CADA‘s mornings announcer, was an AI voice clone, broke after the GfK Radio 360 Survey 2 measurement period had concluded. None the less I was particularly interested when the survey results came out this morning to see how the station was faring. It was the second best result the station has ever seen in Sydney, with 14,000 additional listeners tuning in largely aged 18-24, exactly who ARN and CADA are targeting. Thy’s listenership was down by exactly the amount the overall audience increased (see below) but K-Sera (main image, right), CADA’s only ‘real’ announcer currently after the departure of Sophie Nathan from breakfast (Sophie – main image left – had a 50K plus cume audience this survey), increased hers by 30K to 71,000. This may still be small change compared to Conchetta and Luka‘s 561,000 cumulative audience on triple j breakfast but if CADA’s audience cracks 200K next survey, which it might with the additional media scrutiny, those that have an issue with Thy are likely not the ones listening to its music.

Alongside Gold 104.3 being one of the few top Melbourne stations to attract listeners this survey, ARN’s associated DAB+ station Gold 80s had the largest listenership in the city with SCA‘s DANCE HITS, Coles Radio and smooth relax also seeing gains.

It was neck and neck between smooth fm and Coles Radio in Brisbane with relatively consistent listening in the city with the exception of Double J whose losses may be attributable to the Hottest 100 being a part of Survey 1 results.

Nova 90s – 57,000 (-4K)

Perth DAB+ GfK Survey 2
Alongside an incredible survey result for Nova 93.7 in Perth, Nova’s smooth DAB+ station is faring very well too, just shy of an 100K audience. The Capital Radio Network‘s second DAB+ station, Forever Classic 70s hasn’t appeared in this survey. RnB FRIDAYS RADIO and triple j Unearthed had the biggest growth with the youth audience well served in WA.
